Batatavator is a Lebanese elevator channel which focuses on elevators in Lebanon, mainly Beirut. He's the only elevator filmer in Lebanon and the second person to film elevators in Lebanon after the French Elevator Channel.

History[]

Batatavator created his YouTube channel on the 22nd of October, 2016 after being suggested by the French Elevator Channel. His first video was of an old Falconi elevator and was uploaded on October 27th, 2016. Since then he has uploaded lots of videos, stops in January 15, 2020, and removed all videos.

  • He speaks English, French, Arabic, and Spanish and he is learning Japanese.
  • He is the only person in the elevator community to have discovered and filmed a Schindler Supermatic elevator.
  • His channel name Batatavator comes from "Batata" (بطاطا) Which means potato in the Lebanese dialect of arabic, and "Vator" which are the five last letters from the word elevator.
  • Another of his interests is music. He plays the piano and is currently learning how to play the guitar. His favorite kinds of music are: classic rock, heavy metal, jazz, and classical music. His favorite musicians are: Dream Theater and Hiromi Uehara, his favorite sons is Peruvian Skies by Dream Theater.
  • He got the idea to create and elevator channel in Lebanon from the French Elevator Channel, after Batatavator left a comment on his channel.
  • His favourite elevators are Schindler with Pop Out buttons, old Italian elevators from Falconi and Sabiem, and really fast elevators. 
  • His current favourite elevators at the Gefinor Center are being Modernized so his favourite elevator that he's ridden are at 110 Yonge Street in Toronto.
