NationalElevator, better known by the alias "Skylar" (formerly elev8m8) was an elevator photographer from the greater Bay Area in Northern California.

Currently, NationalElevator is inactive and is no longer filming elevators.

In December 2008 Skylar started filming elevators and opened his first YouTube account elev8m8. Primary filming locations for the time were around Sonoma and Marin County, with frequent trips to Reno, Nevada. elev8m8, NationalElevator, is one of the few enthusiasts who focuses on casino/hotel elevators. On November 23, 2011 he opened his current YouTube account NationalElevator as a replacement for elev8m8. The name "NationalElevator" Derived from a company specializing in hydraulic elevators, National (Currently out of business as of 2012) based in Pleasanton, California. Since the new account, he has filmed elevators in San Francisco and in Stateline, Lake Tahoe more often than his previous filming hotspots. His photography in San Francisco has led to the popularity of the unique scenic elevator system at the Westin St. Francis Hotel. His elevator photography is a secret hobby except from his dad who has tagged along in many videos. In December 2013 he was again in Lake Tahoe, but on that trip he also filmed three swimming pool videos at Harrah's, Harvey's, and the MontBleu hotels, making him the elevator filmer who has filmed the most swimming pools. He had filmed with other Californian elevator enthusiasts including JonatanElevator29, Alpaljl, FujitecElevator (Aka crazyelevatorman), and on the east coast, DieselDucy.

On September 25, 2015, NationalElevator announced that he was slowing down with producing content for his YouTube channel, although his channel will remain open to view. Skylar uploaded his last elevator video on March 16, 2016. His channel is now inactive, but remains open. Skylar has also mentioned that he will no longer be answering any comments or messages on his channel.
